Songs and Stale Bread

Songs and Stale Bread is an intimate biopic documentary following award-winning singer, producer, and entertainer Joshua Bradford through his thirty-year journey of rise, fall, and rebirth in the music and film industries. During the end of production for the original documentary film for Songs and Stale Bread, Joshua uncovered a forgotten cassette tape he had recorded as a six-year-old in the early 1980s. At first a simple Christmas message to his mother, the tape slowly shifts - his young voice begins speaking not only to her, but to someone else: an audience he sensed in the distant future.That childhood message reshaped the entire film. What began as a portrait of fame and suffering transformed into a meditation on the wisdom we carry as children, the sacred rules of becoming our greatest selves, and the strange miracles that materialize when we choose to follow the path of our destiny. The film's unexpected finale - emerging only after the production had seemingly ended - unfolds into a vision of spiritual alchemy - the hidden current beneath our dreams - and how its limitless power dwells in each of us.
